Nonlinearity of the magnetic field gradients was simulated by BlochSolver using a lattice phantom. A 3D image dataset was acquired with a 3D gradient echo sequence. FOV = 64 mm x 64 mm x 64 mm, image matrix = 256 x 256 x 256.

 

The above images were simulated for a plastic lattice phantom made by a 3D printer (diameter = 53 mm, length = 60 mm, lattice pitch = 5 mm).

MR images were acquired after the above lattice phantom was stored in a cylindrical container filled with baby oil. The following images were acquired with a home-built MRI system using a 1.5 T  horizontal bore superconducting magnet (280 mm in diameter).
